AS GOOD AS IT GETS

A Goldilocks day:
not too hot or too cold,
as morning sun shines
on our comfortable bed.

Two souls murmur
sweet things to each other,
with bodies entwined
in a loving embrace.

There is no reason
to get up,
with nothing to do
and no place to go.

Nothing moves,
except for rainbows
that dance on the ceiling
walls and door,

choreographed by
a breeze swaying
Swarovski crystal prisms
that hang on a window.

The audible silence
of shared solitude.
If only we could
stay bound together

in perfect love
saecula saeculorum
